Job Description
funded by Arts Council England and Medway Council, will back local talent and make space for voices that are often underrepresented. Over two years, we will create more chances for people to take part, connect and be heard. The Executive Officer will provide strategic and operational leadership for this programme.
The role will ensure successful delivery of the programme's outcomes, strengthen Creative Medway's governance and partnerships, lead fundraising and advocacy activity, and
oversee monitoring, evaluation, compliance and funder reporting. The postholder will help Creative Medway increase participation and representation within Medway's creative sector, particularly amongst young people, people from low-income backgrounds, global majority
communities and other underrepresented creatives.Job Requirements
Significant experience leading arts, culture, community, creative industries or place-
based programmes.
Experience managing publicly funded projects, including budgets, funder reporting,
monitoring and evaluation.
Strong strategic leadership, project management and organisational development
skills.
Experience developing partnerships and working with senior stakeholders across
cultural, public, voluntary, community, education or business sectors.
Experience of fundraising, sponsorship, funding applications or funder relationship
management.
Experience supporting governance, Board reporting, compliance or organisational
administration.
Experience line managing staff, freelancers, consultants or project teams.
Strong communication, advocacy, facilitation and relationship-building skills.
Ability to use data, feedback and evidence to inform planning, reporting and decision-
making.Job Responsibilities
Lead delivery of the funded programme and ensure all activities remain aligned with
Creative Medway's Cultural Strategy, funding requirements, agreed outcomes,
outputs and KPIs.
Provide strategic oversight of the Creative Medway Conference, Creative Industries
Fair, co-design sessions, bursary scheme, work placements, volunteering campaign,
Youth Arts Festival development, sector training, impact toolkits and awards activity.
Represent Creative Medway at strategic meetings, external forums, cultural networks
and advocacy opportunities, including Creative Kent and other relevant regional or
national networks.
Line manage and coordinate freelancers and delivery support, including the
Marketing and Audience Engagement Manager, Project Manager and any specialist
freelance contributors, ensuring clear objectives, regular check-ins, agreed priorities
and escalation of issues to the Board where required.
