We're seeking a creative Exhibition and Spatial Designer with a passion for the design of narrative environments to work at a national museum with very high standards of design and visitor experience. This is a central role in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team which also includes Graphic Design and Digital specialists. The Exhibition and Spatial Designer reports to the Design Manager who runs the studio within the wider Exhibitions and Design department led by the Head of Exhibitions and Design. This is a full time, permanent role in Band 4 - Senior Specialists. Core hours of work will be 36 per week, 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, with an additional hour to be worked as agreed upon with management, although due to the nature of the role, some flexibility may be required. The role requires close collaboration with internal teams, external contractors, and project partners, contributing to multiple projects while maintaining the Museum's high design standards. Experience of acting as lead designer, following RIBA stages, and guiding the overall creative direction of a project in collaboration with other design specialists is essential. The primary responsibility of the Exhibition and Spatial Designer is to create interpretative 3D design for galleries, exhibitions, and displays. They will also be required to work on other public-facing spatial requirements such as interior design, furniture design and point-of-sale design. They will collaborate and coordinate design information with external design consultants such as lighting designers, graphic designers, wayfinding and AV specialists. The successful candidate will support the maintenance of existing galleries and the fabric of Royal Museums Greenwich's diverse sites, which include a historic ship and many listed buildings, including two Scheduled Monuments. They will lead projects through their full lifecycle, from concept development to production, installation, and maintenance, ensuring spaces are innovative, sustainable, enriching, inclusive, and accessible.Job Summary
