Job Summary

We are recruiting for multiple facilitator roles to work with children and young people aged 4–15 across Dance, Art & Design, Animation, Filmmaking, and Podcasting.

Job Description

Wac Arts Saturday Facilitators are paid £35 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay) and work Saturdays during term time (from Saturday 20th September 2025 until 11th July 2026) and teach in 10-week blocks, for each of the 3 terms. Each facilitator will work a minimum of 3 hours per week (on a Saturday).

Dance (4 hours per week)

Animation (3 hours per week)

Filmmaking and Podcasting (4.5 hours per week)

Art & Design (3 hours per week - with the possibility of working an additional 1.5 hours on a Tuesday evening)

Each facilitator will lead age-appropriate, inspiring sessions tailored to different groups: 4-6, 7-11, and 12-15 years.

General requirements:

Essential

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with young people, parents/carers, and colleagues
  • A collaborative team player with a flexible and creative approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures
  • An inclusive and accessible approach to working with young people of varying abilities and backgrounds

Desirable

  • Experience working in community, youth, or inclusive arts settings
  • First Aid and/or Safeguarding Children training (or willingness to complete)
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one via Wac Arts)

General responsibilities:

  • Contribute to termly sharings or end-of-term performances
  • Collaborate with other Wac Arts' tutors and staff to deliver a cohesive performing arts experience
  • Engage participants and encourage participants' retention
  • Attend briefings, training sessions, and planning meetings where required
  • Complete necessary admin such as registers, risk assessments, and progress feedback and evaluations
  • Ensure registers and any other relevant paperwork is completed for your activity and returned promptly to your line manager.
  • Report and record any issues surrounding slips/trips/falls and safeguarding according to the Wac Arts' Policy and procedures
  • Ensure safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusion practices are embedded into all teaching
  • Actively feedback on any issues or complaints to your line manager
  • Act as a positive advocate for Wac Arts at all times
