The Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing, a leading provider of weekend performing arts training, is currently looking for an inspirational filmmaker to work with our students at PQA Worcester on Saturdays in term time from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm, devising and shooting short films. You will be leading film making workshops with students aged 6 to 18 years, creating material that can be screened at a local cinema, shared online and entered into Film Festivals for young people. You will have a background in and a passion for making short films. An industry knowledge of film or television production is essential. PQA follows safer recruiting. An enhanced DBS on the update service will be required and can be arranged. Teaching hours 10.am to 1.pm and 2.pm to 5.pm Hourly rate £25 to £35 depending on experience plus extra for editing. Essential: Degree level training in cinematography, short film making/ film production or professional industry knowledge and experience in film or television. An advantage: Experience in working with young people Setting up the equipment 9.am to 9.45am Teaching Hours; 10 am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm Teaching basics of short film making to three different age groups on Saturdays during term time: 6 to 9 years, 10 to 12 years, 13 to 18 years. Helping them to script, storyboard, shot list, production plan their short films Teaching them the basics of camera op, sound, lighting,Foley. An ability to edit their short films an advantage. Liaising with the Principal re shoot schedules, locations. Attending cinema screenings and film festivals.
