I’m looking for a friendly, creative, and reliable Children's Pottery teacher to join my studio team next year (2026). This role is perfect for someone who loves working with kids & adults and has a passion for clay, creativity, and hands-on learning.

Job Description

Start Date: Early next year 2026 (flexible)
Location: https://www.melisadora.com/studioaddress - Melisa Dora Ceramics
Hours: Part-time,possibly after school hours, weekends, or during school holidays (flexible depending on your availability)

What You'll Do:

  • Lead engaging and supportive pottery sessions for children
  • Focus on experimentation, play, and confidence-building
  • Prepare materials and help keep the studio organised
  • Assist with reclaiming and finishing kids' work when needed
  • Create a positive, encouraging learning environment for all students

You'll Be a Great Fit If You:

  • Have experience with children (teaching, tutoring, workshops, or similar)
  • Have throwing and hand building experience (essential).
  • Are patient, enthusiastic, and good at explaining creative processes
  • Enjoy fostering creativity and celebrating kids' unique ideas
  • Are reliable, communicative, and comfortable working independently

Pay: £20-£25 per hour depending on experience
Hours: 2-3 hours
Days: Part time weekends and during the week.



Job Requirements

You will be teaching kids ranging from 5 years and above either handbuilding or throwing. We only accept 9 years and above on the wheel so it's a little easier to manage.

Minimum amount of students in a class is 5 and maximum is 12. If the total is over 10 students, you will be teaching with another teacher so it's easier to manage.

Ideally I would like someone who lives within an hour of the studio and who is very reliable and punctual.

Job Responsibilities

Applicants must have previous experience with teaching accredited courses and a valid DBS certificate.

Handbuilding and throwing experience is essential and experience working with similar age groups.
