Job Summary

We are seeking Freelance Workshop Leaders to support the delivery of our term-time Creative Sparks after school sessions for children in Nottingham's diverse communities. The sessions use creative engagement to develop children's creativity and curiosity. Each session is 4 hours.

The role

  • Work with the Ignite! programmes team and other Creative Sparks Workshop Leaders to plan and deliver engaging sessions on the Creative Sparks programme, supporting children to develop their self-confidence, sense of pride/self-belief and language/communication skills through creativity and curiosity in line with Ignite!'s vision, mission and values
  • Bring own ideas and creativity to the team
  • Source equipment and materials for sessions
  • Maintain a high-level of observations, record-keeping, and reporting for evaluation and monitoring purposes;
  • Deliver the programme in line with our key policies: Safeguarding, Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities

Hours, pay and location

  • The role is term time only
  • 4 hours per session per week, term time (total hours dependent on whether a candidate can deliver one or more sessions)
  • Renumeration: £25 per hour (inclusive of any travel to the setting)
  • We are interested to hear from candidates who could deliver either one or multiple sessions from the list below:

Mondays at Meadows Library (NG2 2DR), 3.30pm - 5pm

Tuesdays at St Ann's Library (NG3 3GG), 3.30pm - 5pm

Tuesdays at Asylum-seeker accommodation in Sneinton, 4pm - 5.30pm

Wednesdays at Strelley Road Library (NG8 3BJ), 3.30pm - 5pm

Thursdays at Asylum-seeker accommodation in Nottingham City Centre, 4pm - 5.30pm

Renumeration: £25 per hour (inclusive of any travel to the setting)

Job Requirements

The essential experience, understanding and knowledge criteria for this role are:

Experience of engaging with children and/or young people with creative activities outside of the classroom

Strong understanding of safeguarding (training will also be provided)

Understanding of monitoring and evaluation

Experience of working with small charities

Ability to bring fresh, creative ideas to the programme

Please note: An Enhanced DBS is a requirement of this role. Ignite! will process and cover all costs.

Job Responsibilities

To design and deliver after-school workshops that develop children's creativity, curiosity and confidence.

To work collaboratively with the Ignite! Programmes team and other workshop leaders as part of the planning process for the sessions across the different settings.

To follow monitoring and evaluation processes and feed into the reporting

To be committed to safeguarding and follow Ignite!'s safeguarding policy and procedures.
