Job Summary

Kingston Music Service (KMS) are looking for friendly and organised individuals to work as casual Music Centre & Event Stewards to work on a self-employed basis helping run our music centres and chaperoning at our various events. We are specifically looking for a steward for Saturday mornings.

Job Description

Our music centre and event stewards are key to the smooth running of our centres and events plus the safety of your students.

Hours: Saturday x 5.5hrs during KMS term time (10 weeks per term) plus casual event support.

Job Requirements

We are looking for applicants with a strong general educational background, specifically in English, and a comprehensive grasp of administrative tasks. Successful candidates will have a proven track record of managing large, diverse groups and the ability to maintain a welcoming yet professional communication style that prioritizes the safety of all staff and students.

Job Responsibilities

Music Centre Stewards Ensure all tutors and students sign in and out at centre reception, keep an accurate record of complaints and issues at the centre, communicate problems and issues to Centre Steward and KMS Office, show students to lessons as needed, sell KMS merchandise as available, set up rooms ready for teaching - where necessary, ensure the centre is tidy and equipment stored away at the end of the centre, assist coordinating booking rooms, lead in the evacuation of centre in emergency situations, ensure child protection procedures are adhered to and maintain good working relationships with school staff, tutors and parents.

Events stewards assist with setting up and clearing away at venues, check/scan tickets and show audience to seats where necessary, escort performers around the venue ensuring they are in the right place at the right time, ensure the safety of students performing whilst on and off stage in line with chaperone expectations.
