Creative Allsorts is seeking a Freelance Musical Theatre Assistant to support both its Little Allsorts (ages 3-6) and Rising Allsorts (ages 7-9) classes. This role is ideal for someone passionate about musical theatre who is looking to develop their facilitation skills in a vibrant, nurturing, and supportive environment alongside experienced practitioners. You will work closely with the Lead Facilitator to support the smooth delivery of sessions, contributing to engaging, high-quality musical theatre classes while gaining experience in planning and leading activities. This is a freelance, termly role with ongoing opportunities throughout 2026 and beyond. Sessions run weekly during term time, with flexibility around occasional absences where cover can be arranged.
Times: 11.15AM - 12.15PM (Little) & 12.30PM - 2.30PM (Rising)
Location: Live Well North East, Sacriston
Starting at £15 per hour, dependent on experience.Job Requirements
Valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Experience working with or supporting children in an educational or performing arts setting
Strong interest in musical theatre, with developing skills in acting, singing, and dance
Experience supporting children's performances or showcases is desirable
Enthusiastic, dependable, and positive team player
Ability to take initiative while following direction from the Lead Facilitator
Excellent communication skills when working with young children
Willingness to learn and develop within the role
Commitment to safeguarding procedures (training provided)
Ability to provide references
Reliable ability to consistently attend sessions on timeJob Responsibilities
Support the delivery of musical theatre classes, including warm-ups, games, and creative activities
Assist with teaching acting, singing, and movement/choreography exercises
