Facilitator Opportunity - Performing Arts (Freelance)
Blue Apple is looking for an enthusiastic and creative Performing Arts Facilitator to lead one of our inclusive weekly groups.
Session details
Day: Mondays (term-time only)
Time: 5.30pm-7pm
Venue: Ashley Junior School, Normans Way, New Milton, BH25 5FN
Pay: Competitive industry rate
This group provides children/young people with special needs from age 10 up to and including 25 years the opportunity to develop confidence, creativity, and performance skills in a fun, supportive environment. Sessions focus on accessible performing arts activities, including drama, movement, voice, storytelling, and devising.

Fees are based on an hourly rate that incorporates class preparation time.

There may be additional opportunities to provide cover for some of our other performing arts groups in the event of planned or short notice absence.

Job Requirements

You will need:

Enthusiasm and creativity.

At least two years' professional experience working within the arts or performing arts.

Experience facilitating creative workshops or performing arts sessions.

A passion for inclusive arts and creating accessible, engaging experiences.

Confidence in planning and delivering sessions for adults with a range of abilities.

Ability to adapt activities to suit individual needs.

Reliable, organised working practices and the ability to collaborate with support staff, volunteers and Blue Apple staff.

Experience working with adults who have a learning disability, autism or other neuro disability is desirable, although training and ongoing support are provided.

A driving licence and access to a car.

Public Liability Insurance and an Enhanced DBS check are desirable (we can arrange these if you do not yet have them).

Job Responsibilities

Throughout the year, over three twelve-week terms with a half term break, the facilitator will work with the group towards small in-house sharings and performances organised by Scarf.
This group is for learning / neuro disabled and / or autistic adults and offers participants the opportunity to develop confidence, creativity, and performance skills in a fun, supportive environment. Sessions focus on accessible performing arts activities, including drama, movement, voice, storytelling, and devising. The group has a maximum capacity for 15 performers. The facilitator is supported by a volunteer who has relevant experience.
