Job Summary

Coalesce are seeking an experienced Producer to join the team from December onwards.

Job Description

The company will be embarking on the second phase of development for their children's theatre show, Mika and the Polar Bear. This activity takes place Dec-April, with 24 performances between Feb-April. The Producer will support the company with the logistical delivery of this R&D and test tour, as well as planning and preparing for it's future tour in winter 2026/27.


Alongside this project, the Producer will also support the company with the inception of a new production for rural touring spaces. This will include planning, relationship development and fundraising.

The producer will also work closely with the company and it's board to steer the general governance and direction of the company and it's future activity.


Although this is a freelance position, the company aims to work on a longterm basis with their producer, funding their time beyond single projects.


The initial fee for the work is £3500, this is based on 14 days of work between Dec & April. With additional funding to be secured for contracted hours beyond this initial fee.

Job Requirements

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a producer in theatre or live performance.
  • Strong understanding of Arts Council England funding processes, including NPO
  • submissions.
  • Experience with fundraising and application writing beyond ACE.
  • Confidence in developing and sustaining new and existing relationships.
  • Experience with tour booking.
  • Experience in touring logistics, contracting, and budgeting.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and time-management skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive practice and enthusiasm for supporting queer voices.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with small independent or artist-led companies.
  • Knowledge and existing relationships with national touring networks and venues.
  • Familiarity with hybrid or remote collaboration.
  • Experience in producing for dance
  • An interest in producing work for Children and Young People

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead on the preparation, delivery and submission of Arts Council England Project Grants
  • in line with the companies planned activity.
  • Support with the planning and strategic development of the wider organisation.
  • Support the company in developing new relationships.
  • Collaborate with the company on sourcing partners and venues in project preparation
  • phases.
  • Oversee specific tour planning, budgeting, contracting, and scheduling.
  • Liaise with venues, partners, and creative collaborators where needed.
  • Oversee audience development activity in partnership with the wider team.
  • Deliver on the required reports throughout each project.
  • Attend key rehearsals, meetings, and performances as required.
