The Sensory Music Practitioner will deliver music classes for our Social Programme (term time only) in Selby. The classes take place at Selby Town Hall. The candidate will also be asked to facilitate a Lunch Hub, which is an informal time for participants to socialise with friends and enjoy their pack up. This is also an ideal time for the practitioner to build relationships with participants and their support networks. Participants then access the structured Sensory Music class, before packing up at the end of the day. As this is a new group, we also have an exciting summer outreach project to deliver, which will see five sensory music workshops brought into residential settings, in order to assist the promotion of the Sensory Music group, launching September 2025. The freelance agreement extends to the end of December 2025, however we intend to continue the classes from January 2026 assuming the class has reasonable uptake. The class is currently funded by Two Ridings Community Foundation. Our classes are accessed by a diverse group of adults with additional needs. Classes should be tailored to the needs and ability levels of the group, including taking wheelchairs, walkers and other walking aids into account. Sessions must have a distinct social focus, to support our participants in building and maintaining friendships. The outreach workshops will be delivered through August 2025, the dates and times are to be agreed with the candidate. The Sensory Music classes will commence from the 17th of September 2025.
