Job Summary

We are delighted to offer a unique opportunity for a graduate music student to work alongside our leading SEND music education practitioner, Patrick Stockbridge, delivering a short series of workshops across a number of North Birmingham special schools.

Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills in music workshop leadership within a specialist SEND environment. The role will involve observing, supporting and gradually leading engaging and inclusive sessions, working with young people to build confidence, wellbeing and musical skills.

Job Requirements

Key details:

- Dates: 3 to 6 hours per week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, w/c 20 April (during the school day)
- Duration: 5-week project, with potential for future work
- Rate of pay: £42+ per hour (depending on experience), plus expenses in line with Armonico Consort policy
- Safeguarding: Appointment subject to an enhanced DBS check in line with our Safer Recruitment Policy

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who:

- Is a strong musician with good musical knowledge
- Has excellent communication skills and a positive, engaging manner
- Can plan and deliver creative, varied and inspiring sessions
- Is reliable, organised and professional at all times
- Has an interest in (or experience of) working with children and young people, particularly in SEND settings
- Is reflective, proactive and keen to develop as a workshop leader
- Understands the importance of safeguarding, professionalism and inclusive practice
