Job Summary

NYJO (National Youth Jazz Orchestra) is seeking a skilled freelance videographer/editor to capture the final performance of a project that we are running for young people in collaboration with B:Music, Birmingham.

Job Description

We are currently looking for a videographer to capture our holiday project that we are delivering in collaboration with balletLORENT and Cobalt Studios, Newcastle.

Over three days, a group of young people aged 13 - 18 are working with NYJO artists and musicians to develop a performance piece that will be performed at Cobalt Studios in March.

We are looking for someone to capture a day of this project for us in a 90 - 120 second Instagram Reel, featuring rehearsal clips as well as interviews with the young people and artistic leadership team. This video should capture the excitement of the process of artistic creation and centre the young people that we are working with.

You will need to be available for filming between 11:00 - 13:00 on Wednesday 18th February at balletLORENT, Newcastle, NE15 6TT to capture the session; you will need to bring your own filming equipment. You will be responsible for your own travel to and from this venue.

Job Requirements

Filming:

  • Set up and manage all equipment for filming, ensuring high-quality visuals and sound.

  • Use appropriate lighting and camera techniques to ensure clarity.

Editing:

  • Edit footage to produce a cohesive video that align with our content goals.

  • Sync audio and video properly, removing any unnecessary pauses, mistakes, or background noise.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in videography, camera work, audio recording, and audio mixing where necessary.

  • Able to use editing software to a high standard (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve).

  • Experience with lighting setups and sound optimization for video recordings.

Job Responsibilities

Timeline:

  • Filming is scheduled for 11:00 - 13:00 on Wednesday 18th February at balletLORENT, Newcastle, NE15 6TT.

  • Final video should be sent in by the end of February.

This is a freelance role.

Fee:

£200 for recording and editing.
