Job Summary

Nicolson Square Venues are owned by CEMC (City of Edinburgh Methodist Church). The venue has circa six spaces suited to a range of events including conferences, seminars, concerts, and community gatherings as well as five tenanted basement offices and a four-bedroom residential flat.

Job Description

Nicolson Square Venues are looking for Front of House Stewards to work various shifts for World Strides Productions in early August as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025.

There are 5 productions taking place in our largest space, The Great Hall. The role of Front of House is to be the public face of Nicolson Square Venues & our Fringe partners to deliver an exceptional audience experience.

Dates: Thursday 31 July to Wednesday 6 August (with availability for various day, evening & weekend shifts)

Pay rate: £12.60 per hour

Hours: Shifts will be approximately 7.5-8 hours. Performances will run from Friday 1 August to Wednesday 6 August. You must be available for the whole performance run and be able to attend the training day on Thursday 31 July.

Front of House Stewards will be required to provide their own black top and dark trousers/skirt. Additional uniform/costume maybe provided. Shoes or trainers should be smart with covered toes and heels suitable for walking.

Job Responsibilities

Key Duties & Responsibilities

- Greeting the audience, checking tickets and showing them into the venue ensuring the process is managed smoothly and efficiently at every stage
- Always ensuring the health and safety of the audience
- Being present in & out performance spaces to monitor the customer experience
- Actioning evacuation and emergency procedures when required
- Having a good working knowledge of the building
- Ensure the space is clean & tidy prior to & after every performance
