We are looking for new Front of House Team Members at the Menier Chocolate Factory - based in Southwark.

Job Description

The Menier Chocolate Factory, an award-winning theatre, seeks enthusiastic Front of House Team Members to join our dynamic team. If you have a passion for theatre, great customer service skills, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you!

We currently run a 7-day show week (Tues-Sun) so expected hours are predominantly in the evenings and weekends - with matinees on Saturdays and Sundays.

Being available for shifts during the Christmas and New Year period is key.

The hourly rate is £12.50 per hour. A show shift is a minimum of 4 hours.

Shifts are Tues-Sun, across a 7-show week (28 hours a week).

Start date: From mid/late November 2025

Job Requirements

  • Previous hospitality, customer service, or front-of-house experience is preferred but not essential.
  • A friendly, approachable, and professional manner.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A passion for theatre and delivering excellent guest experiences.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding service to our guests in the theatre
  • Greet and assist patrons, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Providing knowledge of the venue's history, as well as current and upcoming shows.
  • Work across different front-of-house roles, including ushering, bar service, and box office.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and presentation in public areas, including back of house.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues professionally.
  • Support the team during busy periods, including pre-show and interval service.
  • Assisting in other venue duties when required by the Management and Office teams.
