Job Summary

Our small company has been organically growing for over a decade, making bespoke, hand-crafted globes with bespoke bases. Combining traditional techniques with high quality modern materials, we create unique works of art which will be held onto for a lifetime.

Job Description

Our small team of craftspeople are trained in-house and held to high standards in the specific skills of globe-making, globe-painting, digital cartography and base/table construction, depending on their role.

As an employee in our workshop we expect you to:

  1. Have a great eye for detail demonstrate high level of detail and perfectionism in your own work.

  2. Feel comfortable in the workshop environment and using a variety of shop floor machinery; including but not limited to: planer/thicknesser, table saw, router, pillar drill, sanders, band saw and chop saw

  3. Be able to take feedback about quality of work and direction from your team leader.

  4. Work to deadlines and manage your time accordingly. The base making process involves different stages; requiring a strict balance between tasks to achieve completion within deadlines.

  5. Keep a constant flow of communication regarding your work progress with relevant team members and across departments.

  6. Make sure the production platform we use is always updated to facilitate the smooth running of operations.

  7. To hold yourself accountable and practice good work ethics with your peers and management.

Job Requirements

Day to day duties include:

  1. Processing wood

  2. Sanding

  3. Joinery

  4. Brushing and polishing the metal components and bases to a high degree

  5. Packing / crating of items for shipment

  6. Organising / tidying workshop and studio

How to Apply

As this role is studio-based, you must live in London and be able to commute to Stoke Newington. Working hours are 09:00-17:30 Mon-Fri.

Salary: 30-34k dependant of experience
