Job Description

The postholder will lead on the development and management of a clear and prioritised pipeline of grant and foundation applications aligned to organisational priorities, whilst also supporting colleagues with funding bids where appropriate.

The role will be responsible for maintaining our existing, as well as developing new fundraising resources for use across the organisation, including cases for support, narratives and a database of trusts and foundations.

In addition, the Fundraiser will contribute to social impact reporting and storytelling, helping to articulate the difference our work makes and the value that supporting us makes to local and creative communities.

This role is starting at a time when fundraising activities and strategy have been clarified and defined for Bricks, with relationships formed with key funders and others identified. This means that the postholder will be able to support with activating a pipeline of bids across core, revenue, capital areas of the charity.

Hours: 15 (2 days with options for flexible working)

Job Requirements

Essential

  • Proven experience of fundraising within the arts, community or wider cultural sector
  • Demonstrable success in securing income from a range of sources, including writing and managing successful applications to trusts and foundations
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to engage, influence and inspire a wide range of stakeholders
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
  • Strong writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, persuasively and creatively

Desirable

  • Experience of coordinating fundraising activity across teams or departments within an organisation
  • Knowledge of corporate fundraising, sponsorship or partnership development
  • Experience of individual giving initiatives, including site based fundraising tools or fundraising events
  • Familiarity with prospect research tools, fundraising databases or CRM sy

Job Responsibilities

Fundraising

  • Research and identify potential trusts, foundations, corporate partners and individual donors.
  • Lead the development, submission and follow-up of funding applications, working with colleagues to shape strong proposals.
  • Develop and refresh clear cases for support, tailored to different funders and income streams.
  • Plan and deliver cultivation and engagement activity, including targeted opportunities and occasional events.
  • Produce engaging public-facing fundraising copy across digital and print channels to support individual giving and awareness.
  • Oversee on-site giving initiatives, maintaining existing schemes and exploring new fundraising opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, corporate partners, trustees, consultants and other key partners.

General

  • Contribute to the development of social impact reporting and narrative storytelling, ensuring fundraising communications clearly demonstrate the change created through Bricks' work
