Job Summary

Thomas Dane Gallery is seeking a friendly, motivated, and organised Gallery and Archive Assistant Intern to join its London team for a minimum of 6 months, commencing at the end of March or in early April 2026.

Job Description

The internship is a joint role offering experience in both the the Archive Department and the Front Desk team, and provides a broad insight into the daily operations of the gallery. You will spend part of the week in the archive office, assisting the Digital and Archive Manager with a range of digital and physical archiving tasks, including image processing using Photoshop. For the remainder of the week, you will be based at the front desk in one of the galleries, acting as the first point of contact for visitors and providing administrative, organisational, and project-based support to the wider gallery team. You will be mentored by both the Digital and Archive Manager and Gallery Associate, and will work closely with the Gallery Assistant.

The internship will be paid at the National minimum wage of £12.71 per hour, and is available on a full-time basis (5 days per week, Monday-Friday).

Job Requirements

  • A keen interest in and knowledge of contemporary art.
  • An open-minded approach and willingness to learn new things.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good working knowledge of Google Suite, MS Office.
  • Confident use of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign is essential.
  • Quick thinking and solution-oriented.
  • The ability to multitask effectively.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A flexible approach and interest in working across departments.
  • The right to work in the UK (we are unable to sponsor visa applications for this position)
