Job Description

Canopy Collections is seeking a highly organised and motivated individual to join our team as Gallery Assistant and Registrar. The successful candidate will support general gallery organisation, offering broad administrative support across all activities, with a particular focus on logistics.

The successful candidate will be based predominantly at Canopy Collections HQ in Bloomsbury and may be required to work from other locations to support off-site projects.

Working Hours: Part-time (3 days per week). 10am-6pm, Monday, Thursday and Friday.
Applicants will occasionally be required to work additional hours for events and openings.

This is a permanent position, subject to a 3-month probationary period.

Remuneration: London Living Wage (£13.85 per hour). £17,285 per annum.

Start date: Mid-August 2025

Interviews will take place in early July 2025.

Job Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Fine Art, Art History or a related field
  • Demonstrated familiarity with and interest in contemporary art and the gallery's programme
  • A detail-oriented approach, self-organisation, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong IT skills, with a working knowledge of MS Office, Google Drive and the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)
  • A positive and helpful attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Eligibility to work in the UK is essential

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative support for the team.
  • Oversee the general mailbox and monitor online sales enquiries.
  • Greet visitors to the gallery with professionalism and warmth, interfacing with the public.
  • Assist in the coordination of gallery events, including private views, talks and tours.
  • Coordinate packing and shipment of artwork and arrange the transportation of artwork to and from the gallery, storage facility, clients, and other destinations as required.
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of quality shippers.
  • Maintain correct import/export and VAT procedures.
  • Assist with post-sale administration as required.
  • Ensure the accuracy of company records, including artwork inventory and contact lists.
  • Assist the Directors with diary management.
