Job Description

Are you an organisational powerhouse who loves a tidy spreadsheet and a seamless system? The Revel Puck Circus is seeking a General Manager to be the operational heart of our team.

Reporting to the Artistic Director/CEO, you will be the engine that keeps our circus moving. This is a role for someone who finds joy in the details-from managing complex digital filing systems and gathering data for impact reports to streamlining our recruitment and HR administration.

You will be "finance-confident," acting as the vital link between our day-to-day operations and our Finance Manager. We aren't looking for a financial strategist, but we do need a champion of organisational discipline who understands that great art is built on great administration.

  • Salary: £19,200 - £20,400 actual (£32k - £34k FTE).
  • Hours: 0.6 FTE (3 days per week).

Location: Shoreditch.

Job Requirements

The General Manager provides the operational backbone of The Revel Puck Circus. Your primary focus is on systems, operations, and organisational discipline. We need a highly organised administrator who thrives on data gathering, maintaining the internal structures-including HR and financial admin-that allow the company to scale.

Job Responsibilities

Systems, Data & Digital

  • Data & Reporting: Maintain activity records and gather output data for grant monitoring and reporting.

  • Digital Systems: Manage Google Workspace, ensuring strict version control and filing logic.

  • Master Calendar: Maintain the operational calendar for all productions, tours, and events.

  • Knowledge Management: Act as "continuity holder" to document and capture organisational learning.

People & HR Admin

  • Recruitment: Manage hiring logistics: ads, interview scheduling, and candidate packs.

  • Onboarding: Process new starters and maintain up-to-date personnel records.

  • Compliance: Track training (H&S, Safeguarding, etc.) and issue/collate contracts.

Operations & Governance

  • HQ & IT: Manage the Shoreditch office and coordinate IT renewals/support.

  • Assets & Fleet: Maintain vehicle/trailer records, DVLA updates, and the Asset Register.

  • Finance & Systems: Ensure timely flow of receipts/info to the Finance Manager
