Job Summary

A central role overseeing the planning and operations of the organisation, the General Manager (0.6 fte) will work closely with Artistic Director Rory McCleery to devise and deliver the artistic programme of the ensemble. We're looking for someone ambitious, energetic, and collaborative.

Job Description

We are seeking a General Manager to work with Artistic Director Rory McCleery with the oversight of the Board to deliver and further develop the strategic plan of the ensemble's charitable activities.

This role is part-time at 3 days a week (0.6fte).

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Medium and long-term artistic planning, in consultation with the Artistic Director

  • Liaising with existing promoters and forging new links with concert promoters and festivals

  • Developing contacts with other performing arts organisations, ensembles and artists

  • Preparing and finalising contracts

  • Planning and delivering touring projects

  • Managing TMC's digital and social media communications a

  • Working on key fundraising applications and the Friends of The Marian Consort

  • Advocating for the organisation to sector colleagues, media, and the general public

  • Overseeing project budgets and organisational budgets

  • Managing artist and freelance pay, artist terms and conditions

  • Overarching responsibility for the organisational health and safety, safeguarding and all other policies and procedures

  • Reporting to the Board of Trustees for quarterly meetings, separate Board Finance
