This role is part of London Borough of Culture Haringey 2027. We are seeking a strategic, collaborative and creative Head of Communications & Engagement to lead the marketing, communications and audience engagement for London Borough of Culture Haringey 2027. This is a unique opportunity to shape the narrative, visibility and reach of a major cultural programme for London. The role will lead the development and delivery of the LBoC communications strategy, ensuring that the programme builds pride, participation and connection across the borough while attracting audiences from across London, the UK and beyond. Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Creative Director, programme team and Haringey Council communications teams, you will oversee brand development, digital platforms, content production, media relationships and community engagement. You will also build and lead a small communications team and develop partnerships that ensure the programme reflects the diversity and creativity of Haringey. This role will play a key part in embedding culture within the borough's identity and ensuring the legacy of LBoC continues long after the programme year. Contract Type: 0.8 FTE, Fixed Term to June 2028. Essential Skills and Experience - Significant experience in communications, marketing or audience development roles (5+ years). - Experience developing and delivering communications strategies for cultural, public or place-based programmes. - Experience managing communications teams or projects. - Strong understanding of digital communications, including websites, CRM systems and content platforms. - Experience working with media and press, and delivering an integrated marketing, communications and PR campaign. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders. - Strong project management and organisational skills. Desirable - Experience working within local government, arts or cultural sector. - Experience working with diverse communities and participatory programmes. - Experience overseeing brand development or major campaigns. - Understanding of evaluation and audience data.
