Description
This role requires a dynamic and compassionate Chartered Physiotherapist who can lead excellent healthcare and performance support services, coordinate a large multidisciplinary team, and ensure the highest standards of health and wellbeing are maintained whilst driving healthcare strategy.
SUMMARY OF ROLE:
The Head of Healthcare and Performance Support will lead a multidisciplinary team of up to 28 professionals across two sites, specialising in physical and mental health, nutrition, and physical preparation/development. The team will work closely with the Artistic Team to support young dancers' holistic development and maximise their performance potential.
- Ensure the health and wellbeing of students, focusing on long-term dancer health strategies, injury and illness prevention, and physical and mental development to maximise elite performance potential
- Build trusted relationships within the Healthcare and Performance Support team, and the Artistic Director and Artistic Team to inform performance strategies, including training load management and balancing artistic growth with physical and mental wellbeing
- Lead proactive injury and illness prevention initiatives and manage young dancers' health, collaborating with external organisations and industry experts like The Royal Ballet Companies to integrate best practices in dance healthcare
- As a key leadership team member, the post holder will contribute to broader strategic goals of the School, with specific responsibility for managing Healthcare and Performance Support services at White Lodge and Upper School
- Drive research and innovation by partnering with academic institutions, international ballet schools and other elite performance organisations, leading global collaborations on dance training best practices.
CONTRACT TERMS:
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: c£70,000 per annum
Location: White Lodge, Richmond Park and Covent Garden, London
Annual Leave: 30 days per annum
- HCPC Registered Chartered Physiotherapist
- Experience in managing a large multidisciplinary team in a highly demanding and performance environment
- Extensive experience and knowledge in working with high-performance dancers, young athletes, or similar elite level athletes/performers
- Strategic approach to the delivery of exceptional healthcare service to gifted and talented young people
- Evidence of sustained professional development with an emphasis on high performance sport, dance or closely related discipline
- A strong background and experience musculoskeletal physiotherapy for elite performers
- Excellent organisational, time-management and administrative skills
- The ability to work well under pressure and effectively prioritise and time manage
- Professional experience in implementing and maintaining clinical governance standards within a healthcare setting
