We are offering an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in the commercial operations in one of the South-West’s largest cultural organisations.
As a results-orientated individual you will be responsible for driving vital commercial trading income to support us in delivering impact to our 200,000 audiences each year. You will be responsible for our bars along with supporting events and promoting hire of our spaces to grow our commercial income.
This position will work flexibly at both Salisbury Playhouse and Salisbury Arts Centre as the performance schedule requires, where you will help create an exciting work atmosphere with a culture focused on brilliant hospitality and a strong sense of community. You will lead by example, often providing hands on support to the whole team, with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Experienced in commercial hospitality and customer-facing management
- Strong leadership and line management skills
- Proven ability to recruit, train, and motivate casual staff
- Skilled in revenue generation and commercial strategy using data analysis
- Financially astute with budget management experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation
- Calm under pressure in both office and public-facing settings
- Organised with solid IT skills, including Excel and event/rota planning software
- Strategic planner with focus on effective daily operations
- Passionate about theatre, live performance, and the arts
- Experienced in event management
- Available for regular evening and weekend work

- Lead commercial hospitality operations to maximise income and develop new revenue strategies
- Oversee EPOS and stock systems, using data to inform decisions and improve performance
- Manage non-performance space hires and build external partnerships
- Monitor supplier contracts, inventory, waste, and cost control
- Champion excellent customer service and enhance guest experiences
- Oversee efficient daily FOH operations, promoting continual improvement
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness, safety, and legal compliance in public areas
- Act as Duty Manager and First Aider, supporting H&S protocols and meetings
- Line manage bar and catering team: recruit, train, motivate, and conduct appraisals
- Manage rotas and payroll to align staffing with business needs
- Uphold Wiltshire Creative's values, policies, and confidentiality
- Promote equality, minimise costs, and support the wider organisation as needed
