What begins as a suspicious death inquiry takes a darker turn when the legendary inspector, together with DS Lewis, uncovers a connection to sinister events in his own past, twenty-five years earlier. Schedule: Rehearsals (Birmingham) from w/c Monday 18th August 2025 Technical rehearsals from w/c Monday 25th August 205 First performance Birmingham Rep - Thursday 28th August 2025 Final performance Birmingham Rep - Sunday 14th September 2025 First touring week w/c Monday 15th Sept 2025 The UK tour will run from w/c 15th September 2025 - 12th April 2026. There will be five weeks of intended holiday over the Christmas period as well as a further week in the middle of February. Purpose of Job The Head of Sound is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all sound equipment and the smooth running of the department as well as ensuring the operation of sound equipment for all shows. The Birmingham Rep has a permanent, full-time sound & video department, responsible for all the sound and video requirements of productions at The Rep, and which supports all shows in rehearsals and performance, visiting work and events. The production is engaging a Sound 1 for this production to supplement the in-house team and offer dedicated focus to the production. The role would be responsible to and supported by the Rep's Head of Sound and Video. The Head of Sound is responsible for operating the sound equipment for each performance as instructed by the Sound Designer and Projection Designer. To prepare and update an accurate list of cues and cue sheets. To supervise other members of the department. To ensure that all equipment is maintained and in safe working order. To run equipment checks prior to each performance. To liaise with the Company Manager regarding any petty cash needs and to keep accurate records and receipts of all purchases. Attend production meetings, rehearsals, calls and performances as required. To attend all get-in, fit-up and get-outs as required. To attend and operate sound equipment during the technical and dress rehearsals or at other times as required. Adhere to the Health and Safety guidelines of the Company. Any other duties as may be reasonably required in the course of your duties or as instructed by the Producers from time to time.
