Job Summary

The Head of Stage and Screen will lead teaching and learning, creative content, productions and performance opportunities across the network. Championing PQA's student-led, project-based learning approach, the role will drive high-quality educational experiences that support student engagement.

Job Description

Shape and deliver strategic vision for S&S, aligning with PQA's educational philosophy, student experience objectives ad wider business priorities.

Lead and manage the S&S team, fostering positive and collaborative culture and representing the department on the Senior Management Team.

Champion and embed PQA's learning framework (OLA) through training, resources and support.

Quality assurance and improvement of teaching and learning across the network with meaningful student outcomes.

Contribute to student engagement, progression and retention.

Ensure content for student-led project-based learning remains relevant, engaging and diverse.

Develop partnerships to enhance student experience and create opportunities across the network.

Lead Productions and Events function, including PQA's West End experience.

Manage departmental budgets, objectives and KPIs, allocating resources strategically and business plan priorities are achieved.

Assess and monitor risk for HQ run productions, projects and events.

Point of escalation for departmental complaints.

Ad hoc duties as and when required.

Job Requirements

Significant leadership experience within education, performing ats, productions, events or related sector.

Experience of leading organisational change, embedding new initiatives across stakeholders.

Proven record of leading, coaching, developing and mentoring a high performing team.

Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving and decision-making, operating at both strategic and operational levels.

Ability to inspire and motivate Principals, teachers and teams across the network.

Passion for the performing arts.

Understanding of safeguarding, legal and health & safety requirements.

Experience in managing a creative team or directing and producing shows.

Calm and professional manner

Build and manage supplier relationships.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Work and Excel.

Ability and willingness to work unsocial hours including evenings and weekends from time to time.

Full UK driving licence.

Job Responsibilities

Success in the role will be demonstrated through strong adoption of Our Learning Approach, continued improvement in teaching and learning quality, high levels of engagement, progression and retention, successful delivery of productions, projects and events, and effective leadership of the Stage and Screen team.
