Part time / 30 Hours Per Week / Fixed Term until 31st December 2026 Would you like to play a key role in developing a Heritage Development Trust for the Leicester ? Leicester has always been at the forefront of improving the city's historic environment. Building on the success the Townscape Heritage Initiative and High Street Heritage Action Zone, the city council is working with a new organisation, Leicester Heritage Buildings Trust (LHBT) to develop a new Heritage Development Trust for the city, offering a real opportunity to develop a new project in the city's historic environment. Funded by the Architectural Heritage Fund in partnership with The National Lottery Heritage Fund, LHBT is a new project, focussing on the regeneration of buildings in the historic environment; restoring and bringing them back into use, establishing viable future uses, heritage education and promoting the city's historic environment. Utilising flexible working arrangements, you'll be based initially at City Hall with some time spent in the city's historic environment. You'll have the opportunity to further develop your interdisciplinary skills and experience. It is envisaged that the post will be transferred to LHBT once the Trust is established. There is the potential for the trust to extend the contract, subject to funding. This is a fixed term contract, 30 hours per week, to December 2026, Monday to Friday, with a flexible working pattern. With excellent IT skills, you'll manage data, produce complex reports and prepare briefs to present to senior management and at public meetings. Using excellent communication skills, you'll present complex information in writing and at formal meetings, advise and support other officers and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will need to have substantial experience of managing and supporting multi-agency and multi-partner projects, primarily in the historic built environment, and an understanding of project management principles and practice. You will have experience of producing high quality, clear and easily understood documents on complex matters and to meet funder requirements. You will have excellent interpersonal & communication skills, and experience of managing community consultation and engagement in environmental, social or heritage sectors and a clear understanding of barriers to access and inclusion and how these can be overcome. You will have experience of managing teams to deliver a quality service and achieve shared objectives, managing complex relationships, dealing with complaints and carrying out negotiations. With excellent IT skills, you'll manage data, produce complex reports and prepare briefs to present to senior management and at public meetings. Working initially as part of the conservation team in the council's Planning service. The team provides advice and guidance on all aspects of the natural and historic environment and is pro-active in protecting and enhancing the city's natural and historic assets. This post is a new role to support the delivery of the Trust and its programme of work. You will work closely with the Trust, key colleagues and the project partners and stakeholders. You will lead or support the overall project management and delivery of the project activities and initiatives.
