Job Description

Academy Breakin' Convention (ABC) is the UK's first Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performance and Production Arts focused on Hip Hop Theatre. The course is for 16-19 years (up to 25 years with an Education Health Care Plan) and is one of the major initiatives at our new venue, Sadler's Wells East. Our brand-new fourth venue in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, in Stratford.

We're looking for 4 experienced hip hop professionals with specialisms in either Hip Hop Social Dance, Emceeing, Breaking and Popping to join our team. We want you to share your love and knowledge of hip hop culture across dance, music and visual art and recent experience of the creative industries. All hip hop specialists should have a track record of working in the creative industries and with young people aged 14-24. This role will work with our ABC Assessment and Pastoral Leads to support learners to successfully complete the UAL level 3 qualification and guide the next generation of leaders entering the creative industries.

As a performance specialist you will mentor students to realise their ideas and supports professional curiosity needed for personal, artistic and industry progression. We're particularly keen on working with creatives who have an interest in addressing the barriers around accessing the arts and how we may create theatre and events which has inclusion, community and equity at its core.
