The Commissions Bolton LCEP is sharing x3 commission opportunities for an artist(s) or grassroots creative organisations to work in the Farnworth area of Bolton, to respond to the theme of: Home Ground: Exploring & Celebrating where we belong Each commission is open to an artist(s) of any art form or grassroots organisations with creative/artist led approaches, to work alongside a specific group of children, young people and communities in the Farnworth area of Bolton to explore themes of: PLACE BELONGING COMMUNITY COHESION TOGETHERNESS LOCAL PRIDE Bolton LCEP are offering x3 distinct commissions. Applicants should apply for one commission specifically. £5,000 to include all travel, planning, delivery & materials. Working with Children aged 0-5 and their families who live in the Farnworth area of Bolton. £5,000 to include all travel, planning, delivery & materials. Working with Children/Young people in a Primary or Secondary/SEND/PRU school setting(s), during school time, in the Farnworth area of Bolton. £5,000 to include all travel, planning, delivery & materials. Working with Young people aged 11-18 who live in the Farnworth area of Bolton, outside of school/education time. We are particularly interested in applications from Young Creatives aged 18-30. All activity should make space for children and young people to have conversations and connections with each other, and people in their local community. All commissioned projects will need to include a meaningful creative process with young people, rooted in Co-Creation. This could be a process with one consistent class/group or a series of events. The commissions are funded by UK Shared Prosperity Fund & administrated by Bolton Council, on behalf of the Bolton LCEP. Bolton LCEP are particularly interested in hearing from artists with prior experience of working in Bolton. Bolton LCEP are also particularly interested in hearing from artists with a background in Socially Engaged Practice, Co-creation and those who have worked alongside a diverse range of children and young people. They are open to expressions of interest from artists of any art form or cross art form practice including visual art, music, theatre, dance, digital or cross art forms. All artists involved in the project must have up to date DBS check & Public Liability insurance in place. If selected, the artist will need to contribute to a risk assessment for the workshops and sharing events. Artists will also be asked to report on data and feedback from each workshop. The process should facilitate active, creative participation across a minimum of the equivalent of x10 2-hour workshops. But this can be more. The process should result in some kind of creative output that is shared with the local community. This should organically emerge from the Co-creation process, and support the children and young people involved to bring their ideas to life in whatever form they would like, within the resources of the project. All activities should be fun, collaborative, creative, accessible, inclusive and rooted in co-creation principles, and good, ethical Safeguarding practice. Bolton LCEP will help facilitate local connections to schools, community groups, youth service etc. However, any artists with prior knowledge and/or experience of working in Farnworth/Bolton, with existing relationships will be welcome. Each of the commissions will also include responsibility for some monitoring & evaluation, to be complete by March 26.
