About the role:
The British Museum's International Training Programme (ITP) seeks to create a global network of museum professionals, through London - and UK-based annual programme, complemented by a diverse range of legacy projects. This post will provide administrative support for the ITP annual programme and legacy [further engagement] projects. The post-holder will need to work within the Museum strategy, across the organisation, and engage with the wider museum sector (UK & international).
About you:
- Good computer skills (Word, WordPress, Excel, Photoshop, PowerPoint & social media platforms).
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Experience of providing administrative support to multiple projects and programmes.
- Proven social skills including building and maintaining relationships.
- Five GCSEs or equivalent qualifications including Maths and English
Key areas of responsibility:
- To assist with the planning and delivery of the ITP annual programme and legacy projects.
- Providing practical support and pastoral care to the ITP projects and programmes to include: meeting and greeting participants, visiting colleagues, accompanying participants on London-based and other UK visits.
- Public enquiries and managing the ITP e-mail account and diary.
- Managing travel arrangements (e.g. flights, accommodation, trains, insurance, visas and security clearances) for all ITP participants and UK and programme partners.
- Financial administration (e.g. expenses, advances, raising purchase orders).
