Job Description

The project will involve delivering and facilitating drawing workshops to three local community groups and one school. The lead artist will help the groups to design drawings focussing on specific themes. These workshops will also involve mentoring a trainee artist who will help in the facilitation of the sessions.

After these workshops, the lead artist will work with the Kinetika Design Studio in Essex, where they will take the drawings made by the groups to the studio. During this time, the lead artist will be trained in batik silk painting across five days at Kinetika Design Studio and they will transfer the designs made by the groups onto the silks. These painted silks will be used for an important live event taking place across the UK in May 2027.

The project will include delivering workshops at a selected school and delivering workshops to community groups at Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery. During these sessions at the Museum, the lead artist can use the Museum's collections to help inspire the groups with their drawings. The Museum would be able to support the artists in preparation for the workshops by printing any images and getting objects from the collections out on the day of workshops for inspiration.

Contract: This role is offered as a freelance or short fixed-term contract.

Fee: A £2880 fee project fee is available, payable in 3 instalments.
