Description

Job Description

The Coronet Theatre is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Lead Technician or Technical Manager (title dependent on experience) to play a central role in delivering our ambitious international programme. This is a hands-on role at its core-you will be expected to lead from the front, working closely with artists, visiting companies, and the in-house team to ensure every production runs smoothly from initial planning to final load-out.

Acting as the primary technical liaison for all visiting companies, you will interpret and assess technical riders, identify potential issues and cost-effective solutions, and oversee the full delivery of technical elements across lighting, sound, AV, set construction, and stage management. You'll also be a key operator when needed; this is not a solely desk-based position, but a practical role requiring someone who is comfortable being in the space, troubleshooting on the fly, and setting the tone for professionalism and quality throughout the team.

Job Requirements

We're looking for someone with strong technical skills across a range of disciplines and the confidence to step in and lead by example. You will plan and manage freelance crews, maintain the venue's technical infrastructure and inventory systems, and take an active role in implementing and improving health and safety procedures.

The Coronet Theatre is an intimate and atmospheric venue with a unique history and a globally-facing programme that spans theatre, dance, music, and interdisciplinary work. Whether you're a confident, multi-skilled technician looking to step into a management position, or an experienced technical leader who enjoys solving complex problems and staying hands-on with the work, we would love to hear from you.
