Poole Museum are looking for an inspiring leader to head our learning and engagement programmes, develop engaging curricular and deliver events inspired by our exhibitions and heritage.

Our Learning & Engagement initiatives will empower organisations-such as education, health, and local government-to create lasting impact by addressing systemic barriers to community thriving.
In this role, you will lead a team of engagement and learning specialists delivering community engagement activities that promote positive outcomes, enhance economic resilience, and improve health, fostering connections among diverse groups. Additionally, you'll oversee our specialist learning team delivering our learning offer, ensuring high-quality educational experiences for multiple audiences through online resources and dynamic events
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in cross-sector collaboration and multi-audience learning.
- Management qualification (or equivalent experience).
- Expertise in maintaining standards, meeting income targets, and enhancing visitor experiences.
- Experience in strategy implementation using risk management and user data.
Personal Qualities & Attributes:
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to set KPIs, coach, and develop the team.
- Curiosity for research and data analysis.
- Excellent relationship-building skills.

Main Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership for learning and engagement programs and budgets
- Develop creative and engaging curricular for all ages and abilities
- Manage the continual professional development and best practice of the team, to ensure outcomes are achieved
- Design and deliver engaging learning events such as workshops and learning journeys, inspired by our exhibitions and heritage
- Curate educational resources using your specialist knowledge, ensuring it is educational and suitable for in venue, in community or online delivery
- Collaborate on social impact initiatives in conjunction with council services
- Connect community groups for shared learning and best practices
- Build and maintain a network of creative learning specialists
- Contribute to shaping strategic direction, generate income, and enhance efficiency via data and service user feedback
