Job Summary

Saatchi Gallery seeks a suitably experienced professional to work with the Head of Learning on the delivery of the core Learning strategy for the organisation. The role involves the delivery of tours & workshops, developing resources, supervising staff and working with freelance educators

Job Description

This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. The gross salary band for the role is £27,000 - £33,000 per annum based on experience and potential.

The key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Develop strategies for specific age groups through targeted projects.
  • Work with the Head of Learning to develop an engaging learning programme which brings cutting-edge contemporary art to new audiences through high-quality and thought-provoking engagement.
  • To maintain & develop Learning's resources and space to ensure the departmental operation is sustainable and efficient.
  • Oversee and supervise Learning Officers, freelance educators and student interns.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with our key education and community partners.
  • Help the department to develop a digital provision to expand engagement and extend our reach and impact.
  • Ensure impact is recorded through evaluation.
  • Administrative support.

Job Requirements

The Gallery seeks candidates with these attributes:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • DBS cleared
  • Comfortable working with a diverse range of community & age groups
  • Able to talk to groups in an inspiring and approachable way about a range of themes
  • Experience working in educational settings such as schools, informal education centres or learning departments
  • Experience of planning, coordination, and evaluation
  • Practical artistic skills
  • Creative when it comes to developing learning activities
  • Flexible when it comes to workshop planning
  • Confident when speaking to groups of people in a tour or workshop setting
  • Written and oral communications skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding when working with vulnerable groups
  • Good basic IT skills
  • Highly organised with strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrable knowledge of and interest in visual arts

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute the existing strategy for the Learning department.
  • Assist with the Schools Programme by delivering school tours and workshops, as well as assisting with outreach projects and special initiatives.
  • Assist with community outreach through relationship building, project development and evaluation.
  • Develop the adult learning programme.
  • Maintain the database and compile education resources.
  • Support Learning communications such as social media and termly newsletters.
  • Manage and fulfil sponsorship deliverables for each project
  • Develop digital resources for each exhibition
  • Record and evaluate the Community Programme, producing an impact review for each exhibition
  • Support recruitment of Learning interns and Learning Officers & then supervise their work and development
  • Increase school visits through marketing & outreach
  • Design activity packs
  • Maintain regular website updates
  • Any other reasonable duties requested
