Design and deliver engaging, inclusive and intellectually rigorous learning experiences.
Act as module leader.
Deliver and coordinate professional career preparation sessions.
Ensure innovative, student centred and inclusive teaching and learning.
Teach key research and academic writing skills to a multicultural and multilingual cohort.
Ensure that unit design and delivery comply with quality standards and regulations.
Set, manage and assess all formative and summative assignments for the contextual studies modules.
Contribute to assessment as second marker and to internal moderation, ensuring consistency, fairness and academic standards.
Assist the Head of Studies with external moderation and paperwork relating to the Trinity College London level 5 and 6 Professional Performing Arts Diploma, deputising as necessary.
Complete student reports.
Contribute to the ongoing development of the curriculum.
ENBS is moving towards the aim of registration with the Office for Students and creation of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes. This role will have input into curriculum design and implementation and will assist the Head of Studies in the writing of documentation required in service of this goal.
Uphold the policies and procedures of the school and contribute to joint team responsibilities.Job Requirements
Depth and breadth of specialist knowledge of western concert dance, with particular expertise in classical ballet and modern/contemporary dance in sociocultural / historical perspectives, and the current debates in these fields.
Experience teaching in Higher Education (levels 4, 5, 6 of the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF)) with an ability to inspire, motivate and engage students from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences in education.
Specialist knowledge of dance education and training in the professional/vocational sectors.
Experience of devising assessment for Higher Education.
Commitment to developing innovative and engaging dance teaching and learning methods.
Knowledge of diversity and widening participation issues in relation to learning and teaching
Excellent written and oral skills
