Lighting Sound and Stage Technician - Based in Manchester, HOME

As a member of the Lighting, Sound & Stage team, the Lighting Sound and Stage Technician works with the Technical Manager and alongside the wider team to deliver the technical requirements of a modern multi-artform building, while maintaining the required high standards of production, maintenance and safety of HOME spaces and equipment.

The role sits within the Technical team, reporting to the Technical Manager and Technical Stage Manager, with responsibility for Casual Technicians. The Technician works as part of the team delivering building-wide lighting, sound and AV services to all stage performances, gallery events, public events, conferences and related activities within agreed schedules and budgets, across HOME's two theatres - a c.500 seat proscenium arch (T1) and a c.130 seat flexible studio theatre (T2) - five cinemas and 500m contemporary visual art space.

The Technician works closely with freelance Production Managers and Creative Teams on lighting, sound and AV requirements during pre-production and production periods of HOME's own produced, co-produced and visiting productions, and acts as Duty Technician as required. The role supports the safe and efficient fitting-up, rigging, operation and getting-out of all productions, and the safe use of lighting, sound, stage and mechanical equipment in the building. The Technician also supports the cinema and gallery teams with their event programmes, works with the Operations Team to ensure the smooth working of the building, and helps keep HOME's storage areas and workshop in good order.

You will be a self-motivated technical arts professional with direct experience of delivering projects and productions in a theatre, arts or events venue, a proven track record of high-standard technical support and a keen eye for detail. You will join an enthusiastic, motivated and engaged Technical team in a landmark Manchester building.
