Job Description
-Helping deliver an event that celebrates London's hidden green spaces not usually open to the public.
-Reviewing the LOG 2026 weekend volunteer & gardens feedback (as it pertains to their experience of LOG weekend volunteers) to inform 2027 processes.
-Managing 400+ London Open Gardens 2027 weekend volunteers.
-Recruiting enough weekend volunteers to enable all participating gardens (requiring our volunteers) to open minimum hours (between 10-5) on Sat / Sun or both days. Currently the event needs 400 volunteers to open.
-Recruiting new weekend volunteers to diversify the current team.
-Leading the training of all weekend volunteers with a series of remote sessions (with the support of the Event Producer) ensuring all volunteers attend at least one remote session.
-Delivering a briefing for all weekend volunteers (various formats). Access to historical documents is available.
-Creating and managing the weekend volunteer schedule of shifts.
-Allocating all volunteer shifts and managing any changes.
-Introducing the weekend volunteers to their garden contacts. Reminding gardens and volunteers to make contact prior to the weekend.
-Responding to (with the support of the Event Producer) queries and requests from both volunteers and gardens.
-Communicating LOG event updates to volunteers and gardens with the support of the mar/comms contractor and Event Producer.
-Create FAQ docs / VT to share with gardens and volunteers.
-Reviewing the LOG 2026 weekend volunteer & gardens feedback to inform 2027 processes and collaJob Requirements
-Min 2 years- experience recruiting, managing and scheduling timetables for large groups of volunteers.
-Experience as an Events / Festival Volunteer Manager / Co-ordinator.
-Experience using volunteer recruitment and management platforms.
-The ability to work well as part of a team.
