In September 2025 the Cultural Institute at the University of Leeds launched open up (openup.leeds.ac.uk) - a new one stop web portal and central ticketing system for cultural activity on campus.

To support the team we are recruiting a Marketing and Audience Development Assistant with demonstrable experience in the arts, and a track record of supporting the creation and development of media campaigns on different channels.

Reporting to the Marketing and Audience Development Manager you will support the workload for open up, including taking responsibility for shaping and developing the brand's presence across social media. This will involve content creation from the
ideas stage through to filming and analysis, providing key statistics needed to report to the wider open up strategy.

You will also assist on marketing campaigns led by the Marketing and Audience Development Manager.

Job Requirements

Essential
Demonstrable recent experience working within an arts or creative organisation including working with a Box Office system or platform
Experience using and creating content for Instagram and other social media
platforms either for an organisation, brand, or your own platforms
Experience working on arts marketing campaigns
Experience of carrying out data analysis and reporting on efficacy of marketing activity
Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to carry out administrative tasks such as copy editing, scheduling content and organising meetings efficiently and accurately

Desirable
Experience using Wordpress and Canva or similar design platforms
Experience supporting on live events
An interest in and passion for the arts, preferably with knowledge of the wider arts scene in Leeds

Job Responsibilities

Main duties and responsibilities

Administration and management of content on the open up website
Liaising with cultural partners internally to publicise open up events
Creating and distributing digital content for social media channels
Providing sales reports
Writing blog posts for the open up website and other outlets as appropriate
Analysing digital content performance
Distributing print across campus and beyond
Carrying out marketing campaign activity as needed
Reporting and analysing booking and digital data for open up events
Event support
