The Marketing and Communications Manager leads the team responsible for all marketing, communications, fundraising, and audience development activity across the Cultural Services team for Cambridge City Council. This includes Cambridge Corn Exchange and Guildhalls, the City Events Programme, and Creative Partnerships as well as a supportive role for the Cambridge Folk Festival. The role plays a key part in shaping how these events and initiatives are presented to the public, ensuring they reach diverse audiences and contribute to the city's cultural life. The postholder will lead the team on press, PR and the development of sponsor relations. Working closely with colleagues across the Cultural Services team, the position will develop and deliver marketing strategies for a wide range of live events and programmes, attract new audiences, and maintain engagement with existing ones. They will oversee all communications activity, including press, PR, digital content, and brand identity, while supporting fundraising and partnership initiatives that enhance the reach and impact of cultural programmes. The role also involves leading, motivating, and supporting a small team, managing external agencies where needed, and contributing to wider organisational planning and evaluation. To lead and manage the team responsible for all aspects of marketing, communications, fundraising and audience development across the the Culture and Community team, including but not limited to Cambridge Corn Exchange and Guild Halls, Cambridge Folk Festival, the City Events programme, and the City Equalities Programme.
