Job Summary

Yorkshire Young Musicians (YYM) is a Centre for Advanced Training for young musicians ages 8-19. We’re looking for a Marketing and Fundraising Officer to help us tell our story, grow our reach, and build a sustainable future.

Job Description

This is a new role that brings together creative marketing and strategic fundraising. You will work with the Head and other team members to increase visibility, attract new supporters, and ensure more young people can access transformational music education.

Marketing & Communications:

  • Develop and deliver marketing campaigns to promote YYM programmes and impact
  • Manage and grow YYM's social media presence and website content
  • Create newsletters, press releases, digital and print materials
  • Ensure a strong, consistent brand identity across platforms
  • Build relationships with local media, partners, and networks

Fundraising & Development:

  • Identify new funding opportunities (trusts, foundations, public bodies)
  • Write and submit compelling grant applications
  • Support individual giving and donor engagement campaigns
  • Coordinate donor reporting and fundraising communications
  • Assist with planning and promoting fundraising events

General

  • Working within YYM policies and procedures, including safeguarding and child protection
  • Other duties appropriate to the post in line with the needs of the organisation

Details

10 hours per week hours to include some Sunday working in Leeds or Hull and at events as required.

£26,000 FTE, actual salary £7,020

Part time, fixed term for 12 months (with possibility to extend depending on funding)

Mostly working from home with occasional Sundays in Leeds or Hull and travel to events

Job Requirements

Essential:

  • Strong written and visual communication skills
  • Experience in marketing and/or fundraising
  • Familiarity with digital tools (social media, email marketing, website CMS)
  • Well organised and able to manage your own workload
  • Commitment to safeguarding children and young people

Desirable:

  • Experience in the arts or education sector
  • Graphic design or content creation skills
  • Knowledge of funding bodies in arts/education
