We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the busy marketing team at Exeter Phoenix. The marketing assistant will assist in supporting and delivering Exeter Phoenix’s marketing plan for 12mo. , working flexibly and engaging proactively with the needs of the team and organisation

Job Description

Exeter Phoenix is a vibrant, fast-paced arts venue located in Exeter's city centre. Our programme spans live music, theatre, contemporary visual arts, cinema, dance, comedy, classes and workshops, talks and more, as well as providing support and development opportunities for the region's creative community. Exeter Phoenix is also a charity, and our role as a creative organisation in the community is a core part of what we do.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the busy marketing team at Exeter Phoenix. Excellent communications skills, an interest in delivering marketing in the arts and the ability to work flexibly and show initiative are essential in this role.

Terms of Employment

Salary - £24,570 Pro Rata.

This is a part time post (15 hours or 2 days, 0.4 FTE)

Holidays - 24 days p/a Pro Rata

Responsible to: The Marketing and Press Manager

Working closely with: Marketing Officer, Graphic Designer, Marketing Assistant & Creative Hub Coordinator (2.5 days/ week)

Experience

At least 6 months of marketing or promotion experience (Desirable)

Knowledge of and interest in the arts (Essential)

Skills

Essential

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including proof-reading and editing skills

PC and/or Mac literate

Familiarity with Microsoft Office OR Google equivalents, especially Excel/ Sheets

Good interpersonal skills

Fastidious attention to detail - especially when proofing and ensuring accurate data entry

Ability to work flexibly in a fast paced environment with competing priorities

Willingness to show initiative and engage with tasks proactively

Desirable

Working knowledge of Wordpress or other website CMS

Working knowledge of Spektrix or other Box Office software or CRM

Familiarity with Canva and/or Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)

Familiarity with marketing on social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
