Having an effective marketing & communications team has been central to the venue’s recent success and will be key to achieving the growth envisaged for the next few years. That’s why we’re currently looking for a Marketing & Communications Officer to join our existing team.

Job Description

We're seeking a dynamic marketing & communications professional to join our team, with a focus on elevating the theatre's profile through delivering compelling messages about our charitable activities and wider programme to a range of audiences and stakeholders. The post holder will also manage and develop our social media channels and lead on marketing & communications support for our community engagement programme and membership and fundraising schemes.

Job Requirements

ESSENTIAL:

Excellent written/verbal communication skills

Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills

Excellent attention to detail

Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines

A creative thinker and problem-solver

Experience in marketing & communications

Computer literate including use of Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook to an intermediate level (with a willingness to learn)

Knowledge of and experience using a range of content generation and social media platforms

Lively interest in digital innovation

Commitment to professional development

Interest in the performing arts

DESIRABLE:

Experience in a marketing & communications role within an arts/charity context

Experience using Spektrix Experience using Dotdigital

Experience of designing and delivering successful social media campaigns

Knowledge of the theatre industry

Experience of project management

UK Driving License

Job Responsibilities

  • Leading on the marketing of all Community Engagement activities.
  • Leading on communications with Lichfield Garrick Members/Supporters.
  • Utilising Spektrix/Dotdigital to build automated email campaigns with the Marketing Manager.
  • Contributing to evaluating the effectiveness of digital/social media activity.
  • Supporting effective relationships with relevant press/media outlets.
  • Producing and distributing engaging press releases to showcase Garrick productions, events, and creative and community output
  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive and up-to-date press/media database.
  • Arranging Press Tickets and attendance at press nights.
  • Arranging Press Interviews.
  • Leading on all use of social media channels.
  • Leading on the creation of a Social Media Content Plan with the Digital Marketing Officer.
  • Co-ordinating the creation of behind-the-scenes content for website/social media use
  • Leading on the creation of community/charity-focused content for website/social media use.
