From The Other are looking for a Marketing Manager to join our team in Salford, leading our event marketing and supporting wider business development. This is a flexible part-time role (3 days/24 hours per week), working at least one day in our Islington Mill studio.

From The Other are looking for a Marketing Manager to join our independent creative production company.

We specialise in innovative creative commissions and live music productions, with a focus on championing underrepresented artists and grassroots culture. Our flagship event, Sounds From The Other City, has been celebrated as one of the UK's leading independent festivals, offering a platform for diverse voices and transformative live experiences for the past 20 years.

Since founding as a year-round organisation in 2023, we have further developed our work with some of the most exciting boundary-pushing artists in the UK, whilst continuing to foster the collaborative and community-centred ethos of alternative and DIY music culture.

You will be a key part of our team, leading on the planning of our audience-facing event marketing campaigns, and managing various aspects of the B2B marketing of FTO. The role is three days a week, hours are flexible but ideally working each Thursday from our Islington Mill studio in Salford. There may be occasional requirements to work evenings and weekends at events and during busy periods.

The Role:

We are looking for a well organised, driven and highly competent marketer who can manage a variety of grassroots promotional campaigns for our audience-facing brands and events, ensuring they keep to schedule and budget. You will need to have a clear audience focussed approach with experience of running digital, print and outdoor campaigns.

Additionally you will support our directors with the marketing and comms of our core business, From The Other; developing tenders, pitches and funding applications relating to our place-based events and skills development strands (artist residencies and training courses).

Job Requirements

  • Significant Arts Marketing Experience: Ideally 5+ years in a relevant role, with experience in multi-channel campaigns
  • Campaign Coordination: Proven ability to keep complex campaigns on track, including sign off, artwork delivery and distribution
  • Strategic Planning: Proven ability to build effective marketing strategies in the music/arts industry, including both free and paid events.
  • Budget Management: Experience managing campaign budgets independently
  • Excellent Copywriting & Proofing: Excellent written communication skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to adapt for different audiences.
  • Organisational Skills: Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to manage deadlines on a part-time schedule.
  • Analytical Mindset: Experience using data (Google Analytics, box office reports) to track campaign performance and inform future strategy.
  • Autonomous & Reliable: The ability to work independently across a 3-day week, keeping the team updated.

Job Responsibilities

  • Creating audience-focussed marketing plans for projects and events
  • Working closely with our Design & Content Manager on campaign creative, social media and other marketing content
  • Managing campaign budgets and tactical marketing activity, including partner marketing (sharing asset banks), print and distribution, digital ad campaigns, direct marketing etc.
  • Website & SEO - considering the audience's online journey, examining effective landing pages, available information, SEO etc
  • Briefing and signing off content from photographers and videographers
  • Liaising with press managers to brief and monitor press campaigns and releases
  • Shaping evaluation & audience development activities, including data analysis, questionnaires and audience research planning
  • Supporting business development by working closely with the directors to write and develop tenders, pitches and funding applications.
