We are looking for an experienced project manager to lead on the planning and delivery of the Learning Programme which will accompany the Royal Shakespeare Company's upcoming tour of Matilda The Musical.

Are you passionate about championing equitable access to high-quality arts provision and opportunities for underrepresented children and young people? Do you have proven experience of managing and delivering excellent creative / arts programmes or projects? Are you able to collaborate with a range of stakeholders including artists, teachers and learning colleagues from arts organisations and theatre venues?

We are looking for an experienced project manager to lead on the planning and delivery of the Learning Programme which will accompany the Royal Shakespeare Company's upcoming tour of Matilda The Musical. This role is offered as a fixed term contract for up to 20 months, working part time across 3 days per week. The role is based in Stratford-upon-Avon, with travel to venues on the tour who are engaging with the Learning Programme.

Job Requirements

To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have the following knowledge and experience:

  • Proven experience of managing and delivering creative/arts programmes or projects.
  • Experience of working with schools and in education settings.
  • Ability to collaborate with a range of stakeholders, including artists, teachers, Headteachers and learning colleagues from touring venues.
  • Proven experience of project and budget management.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to ensure inclusion is at the heart of the planning and delivery of a creative/arts programme or project.

Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the RSC's Deputy Director of Creative Learning and Engagement, key areas of responsibility include:

  • Project managing the Learning Programme and working with learning colleagues at some of the venues on the tour to fully support them with the coordination and management of the Learning activity in their towns/cities.
  • Leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the Learning Programme.
  • Ensuring effective management of any freelance artists delivering activity within the Programme.
  • Building and sustaining relationships with learning colleagues from some of the tour venues, Headteachers and teachers from the schools engaged in the Programme and freelance artists.
  • Ensuring activities are effectively and consistently planned and delivered to enable high quality outcomes.
  • Effective communication with external partners and stakeholders, and internally across RSC teams.
  • Budget tracking and consistent evaluation of the activity within the Learning Programme.
