Job Summary

Jabadao is looking for two freelance movement specialists to lead training with early years, special and primary school teams across the UK. Daily teaching rate £300 plus expenses. Expected days per month 2 at the start - rising across the year. Email [email protected] for more details.

Job Description

You will become a member of the Jabadao team working on a freelance basis, initially training with the team, then leading one or two face to face courses a month for the company. We aim for this to develop over 2025

You will lead training in the Jabadao approach at conferences, training events organised by advisors across a geographical area, and in special schools, primary schools and nurseries. You may also lead on-line training

Admin or training events is done by the in-house team

Job Requirements

You are:

  • excited to develop the Jabadao approach alongside the team
  • happy to work on an occasional basis, booking commitments in advance
  • able to travel away from home and stay away for one to three nights

Movement skill:

  • you can move spontaneously with both children and adults, taking your lead from them (without the need for pre-planning or games)
  • you can match the energy, ideas and physicality of babies and children
  • you understand how to keep babies and children safe as they explore their own body and movement choices

Teaching / supporting learning:

  • you have experience of supporting children's and adult's learning
  • you are warm, approachable and enjoy taking people on a journey to change practice
  • you can listen and relate to participants' stories, realities and challenges
  • you can adapt, stay positive and be creative when things need to change on the hoof
  • you can clearly articulate and shape information and develop enthusiasm in others

Job Responsibilities

The role starts with learning the Jabadao approach - in practical sessions with the team, shadowing Jabadao practitioners at work and in learning the theoretical and evidence base for the practice.

You will then be contracted to take on specific training events, travelling to host settings to deliver excellent learning experiences for early years workers (in nurseries, playgroups & childminder settings), and teachers and learning support staff in schools.

You will plan courses, within the Jabadao approach, to meet the specific needs and interests of the learning partners. Your aim will always be to inspire and support sustainable change in the way practitioners support children's bodies.

You will write up each course on the Jabadao shared system, highlighting key areas of learning that help to develop the approach.

You will attend paid team training events to develop the approach with the team & to maintain the high standards of the company in teaching, learning and safeguarding
