Job Description

As part of our award-winning Teaching Museum, we are offering four traineeships which may be a stepping-stone into the world of museums and heritage. The traineeships are 12-month fixed term, full time contracts (37 hours per week) starting in April 2025 with a salary of £24,790. They combine a job with training delivered by museum professionals who are experts in their field.

The application asks you a set of questions, these are the most important part of your application. Please answer as fully as you can using examples from your experience. You should write to the limit of 1200 characters, including spaces (between 200 and 300 words), for each question. When we are scoring, we will use ONLY your answers to the questions and consider how well they meet the criteria in the person specification. You are free to upload supplementary documentation, but we will NOT use this when shortlisting.

You will have experience of delivering excellent customer service in a public facing role. Museum experience is NOT required and there is no upper age limit. You will be supported to do your job and you will complete the programme equipped with the skills, knowledge and experience to pursue a career in the museum sector.
