We are looking for enthusiastic music club practitioners to join Pelican Music, teaching children predominantly between 4 - 11 years old.

We provide a range of after school music clubs to our partner schools. All clubs come with training on classroom management as well as resources.

We have an immediate vacancy available for one of our Musical Explorers clubs, on Tuesdays after school in the Shepherds Bush area of West London. However, we are also accepting applications for teachers to lead our clubs commencing in January 2025.

Musical Explorers

This is our early years group designed explicitly for children in Reception and Year 1. Musical Explorers is a fun, interactive music class which introduces children to a diverse range of musical influences whilst allowing them to find their own musical voice. Pupils are taught the basics of composition, singing in rounds, songwriting, listening and general musicianship throughout the term.

Requirements:

  • Have or be studying towards a degree in music and/or actor musicianship, or hold DipABRSM or similar in teaching
  • An enhanced DBS
  • Grade 8 or equivalent standard on your first instrument
  • Competency in music theory, improvisation and sight reading
  • A clean criminal record
  • Have the right to work in the UK (please note we cannot accept applicants on T4 Student Visas)
  • Be a member of thehttp://www.musiciansunion.org.uk/ - Musicians Union, https://www.ism.org/ - Incorporated Society of Musicians, or have your own public liability insurance
  • A proficiency with keyboard skills is also seen as a positive
  • Outreach experience or great interest in outreach work
