Job Description

PQA Stourbridge is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Musical Theatre teacher to lead our Musical Theatre module for students aged 6-18.

Position Details:

  • Role: Musical Theatre Teacher
  • Location: PQA Stourbridge
  • Schedule: Saturdays, 9:20 am - 1:20 pm
  • Pay: £60-£70 per shift, depending on experience

We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds, and prior experience working with children is a strong advantage.

A current DBS check is required for all staff. We can assist with obtaining a DBS check for the right candidate if necessary.

As we prepare for our next academy musical, we're looking for someone eager to lead this exciting project as part of a supportive and collaborative team. This role is ideal for someone committed to making a lasting impact, fostering creativity, and inspiring confidence in young students.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in Musical Theatre: Professional training and/or experience in musical theatre, with strong skills in singing, dancing, and acting.
  • Teaching Experience: Prior experience teaching or working with children and teens is preferred but full mentorship can be given.
  • Passion for the Arts: Enthusiasm for inspiring young performers and helping them achieve their potential.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Adaptability and Empathy: Create a safe and patient atmosphere with our students and be willing to adapt when situations call for it.
  • DBS/Background Check: A current DBS or willingness to obtain one (we can assist with this if needed).

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead interactive sessions covering singing, dance, and acting techniques, adapted to different age groups and skill levels.
  • Prepare Students for Performances: Guide students in preparation for showcases, recitals, and larger performances, ensuring they are well-prepared and confident.
  • Design engaging lessons: Plan and adapt lesson content to suit various ages and abilities, focusing on skill development and enjoyment.
  • Create a Positive Learning Environment: Foster a supportive, inclusive atmosphere that promotes creativity, teamwork, and self-expression.
  • Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with other teachers and administrators to coordinate events, performances, and rehearsals.
  • Maintain Professional Standards: Ensure the safety and well-being of all student.
