Job Summary

We’re looking for a highly organised and collaborative leader to oversee the day-to-day operations and contribute to the strategic development of our dynamic education and community programmes across London sites, including the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, and Kensington Palace.

Job Description

Join Historic Royal Palaces (HRP) at a pivotal moment of growth as our Public Engagement Operations Manager - Schools & Communities. We have a new strategic objective to be a charity for everyone. To do this we are investing in the renovation of existing learning spaces, creating a new learning and community centre at the Tower of London and expanding the breadth and depth of our onsite and outreach provision for school and community audiences.

You'll lead a dedicated team delivering exceptional experiences for schools and communities, manage key operational systems, and contribute to major new developments such as the Tomorrow's Tower learning centre. From volunteer coordination to safeguarding, financial planning to the management of our learning centres-this role offers breadth, challenge, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact.

What we're looking for:
We're seeking someone with proven operations and team management experience, ideally in a cultural, heritage, arts or education setting. You will be committed to bringing our shared history and heritage alive for 'everyone' and be a passionate advocate for our school, family and community audiences and programmes. You'll be confident in forging strong working relationship across departments, managing complex logistics, and ensuring compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, risk management and data protection standards. Strong communication, a commitment to excellent customer service, and the ability to lead a high-performing team are essential.

Flexibility to work across our London sites is essential.

An Enhanced DBS check and occasional weekend and evening working are requirements of this role.

If you're passionate about creating inclusive, inspiring experiences for diverse audiences and enjoy making things run smoothly behind the scenes, we'd love to hear from you.
