To deliver Music in the Round's Learning & Participation (L&P) programme of activity in Sheffield/South Yorkshire and associated events. This includes being involved with the planning and delivery of projects and events, coordination of volunteers and liaising with schools, South Yorkshire Music Hub and other organisations. The role includes: The Participation & Events Coordinator involves supporting the Sheffield Programme Manager and Head of Programmes, and working closely with the National Projects Assistant and Composition & Creativity Coordinator with the logistics of concerts, events and projects in schools. This role is crucial to delivering a programme of activity that goes beyond the concert hall, complementing the performances with events to enable people of all ages and backgrounds to get closer to the music. This role requires someone who has concert or similar event management experience, whether paid or voluntary. It requires working with schools, teachers, volunteers, children and young people, so some knowledge of how schools operate within their academic timeframes and safeguarding requirements is desirable. Attention to detail and first-class administration skills are needed to ensure correct information is distributed, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Contributing to the planning of activity in Sheffield, working with the Head of Programmes and Sheffield Programme Manager to create exciting projects and events to engage people of all ages, including in community venues and with community groups across the city;
Supporting the delivery of all Concerts Plus activity (pre- and post-concert events for different audiences); storybook concerts for 3-7-year-olds; Close Up concerts for 7-11-year-olds; WeCompose
schools' project for KS3 and KS4; Bridge Scheme; and other similar projects as they arise;
Supporting and contributing to the marketing and promotion of L&P activity with schools, youth groups, family concerts and adult events;
Supporting the development of and maintaining productive relationships with local stakeholders and partners, including South Yorkshire Music Hub, Harmony Works, SADACCA, youth organisations,
community groups and Create Sheffield;
Liaising with musicians and any other freelance artists involved in the L&P programme in Sheffield and South Yorkshire;
Coordinating the team of volunteers for Sheffield events;
Administrating the budget for the Sheffield programme of projects and events, in liaison with the Head of Programmes and Sheffield Programme Manager; and
Administrating the Visiting Quartet, the Consone Quartet, and their programme of activity, managing their schedule and being their main contact at Music in the Round.Job Requirements
